I installed Client 6.2.229 on an Intel mini running OS X 10.5.4.

Server is running Retrospect 6.1.138 under OS X 10.4.11 (latest drivers).

Install appeared to go well. I went to the server and tried to configure the new client. I Forgot the client and then clicked the Network button to add again. I could see the greyed-out name for the client. Its status is Not Logged In.

When I click the Log In button, I get an error message:
"Can't log in. Error 524 (invalid activator code)."

I cannot find additional info in the forums or KB about this error.

I have changed the ownership of the client to root:admin in the terminal (per an earlier thread here). No change.

I have also command-clicked the off button in the Client panel to stop the retroclient from running, and then turned it back on again. No change.

I know we have plenty of activator codes.

What other troubleshooting steps would you suggest?
Upgraded to Retrospect 6.1.230 and have created a new config file. We have an Overland PowerLoader LTO3 tape changer.

1) If we manually backup a client, or backup using a regular script, everything works perfectly.

2) If we put Retrospect in Backup Server mode, retrospect will NOT load the tape into the tape drive. If the tape is in the tape, Retrospect will not recognize it. Retrospect just insists that media is missing. Looking at the Tape Backup view, the tape is shown and marked as READY.

We have attempted to use an older of the Retrospect Driver with no change in behavior.

Problem with updating 6.2.229 client

When I updated Mac clients to 6.2.229 via the Retrospect server, after rebooting the client Mac Retrospect Client would not turn on.
