I know that this has been covered some time ago but I am having massive problems trying to deploy Retrospect via group policy.

I have created a .mst file from the original Retrospect 7.5 msi file and have tried to deploy this via group policy as EMC suggest but I cannot get it to install properly.

I can see it trying to install once I log into the computer but it does not come up in the add/remove programs and seems to not have installed.

I have also manually loaded ISScript 9 on the test machine but still no go.

Has anyone got this to work via GPO?
Also does EMC have correct updated documentation or tips on how to deploy this via group policy?

It's getting very frustrating as I'm trying to get this out of testing into a production environment.

Cheers!

We only use retrospect to do basic backup to our HP dat drive, so we have different tapes setup for each day and we have a script configured to run each tape at the end of each day..

However, if the tape is ever missed (someone doesn't change the tape (remember, this isn't a massive backup strategy, just something simply)), then the media request timeout never kicks in.. I've tried setting it to 20 minutes, 2 minutes whatever you want.. and retrospect will sit on the "waiting for media" screen..

We've updated to 7.6 to fix the issue regarding retrospect starting itself up correctly, but this doesn't seem to fix the media request timeout being ignored..

I wondered if this may be a driver issue with our tape drive? but I'm not sure why retrospect would have a dependency on the hardware to do a timer?
