I've got two problems that I am trying to solve. I've just updated to Retrospect 7.7. Shortly before doing the update I replaced the CPU and motherboard on this computer so one of my problems may be realted to this. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.
First problem: I'm getting a wondow titled Windows Services Detection. The window identifies the file C:\Program Files (x86)\Retrospect\Rctrospect 7.6\assert.exe as the culprit. Below this it says:
"This problem occurs when a program is not fully compatible with Windows. Please contact the program or device manufacturer(s) for more information."
Retropspect seems to be working OK except for the following.
Second problem: This may be more of a question than a problem - I'm not sure. I beleive that my backups should run without Retrospect actually being open on my desktop. This does not seem to be the case. If I close Retrospect it asks to check to make sure all is OK to run the backup, but the backup does not start until I reopen Retrospect. For example, there's a backup scheduled to run at 10 pm. If I close Retrospect at the end of the work day it does not run at 10 pm, but rather will start when I reopen Retrospect the next day.
Thansk for any help you all can give me!

Are you sure you have 7.7 installed? The file that is being listed is for 7.6 which is not supported with Windows 7.

No, I've installed Retrospect 7.7 as an update/upgrade to 7.6. There still is a folder for the 7.6 version on my HDD in the Programs (x86) folder, but it does not have assert.exe file in it.
